...DANGEROUS HEAT AND HUMIDITY THIS WEEKEND...
.A hot and humid air mass will move into New England this
weekend. Temperatures on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 90s
with the humidity making it feel even hotter. The most dangerous
combination of heat and humidity will be in southeast New
Hampshire where temperatures will feel like 105 degrees or
more. After a muggy night Saturday night, it will be hot again on
Sunday. Although a cold front will be bringing a relief from the
heat, it is not expected to arrive in time to prevent another
round of extreme heat and humidity on Sunday in southern and
coastal areas.

EDT SUNDAY...
* Heat Index Values...Up to 105 due to temperatures in the mid to
upper 90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.
* Timing... Saturday and Sunday with the highest values in the
afternoon and early evening each day.
* Impacts...The combination of heat and humidity will make it
difficult for the human body to regulate its temperature. Heat
stroke and heat exhaustion are possible for those spending
significant amounts of time exposed to the heat, especially
with low temperatures struggling to fall below 80 degrees in
places.

Information:
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors, especially older adults who live alone, to make sure
they are able to stay cool.
People who work or exercise outside or in hot environments, and
children attending summer camps or outdoor sports practices
should take extra precautions. When possible...reschedule
strenuous activities to early morning. Know the signs and
symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight
and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of
water.
